Wood Flooring

Wood flooring is a great residential flooring option because of the natural beauty, the ease of maintenance and the durability. Investing in wood flooring can increase your home’s value while making it even more beautiful. Mile High Hardwood works with a variety of different wood species ensuring they will have unfinished wood floors for every person’s taste.  Hardwood can add a lot of warmth to a home and can be a great option for nearly any room. Hardwood can be a more economical flooring choice over the lifetime of the floor because of its ability to be repaired and refinished instead of being replaced. Beyond installing new hardwood floors we can also refinish existing wood flooring. Refinishing hardwood removes ambering that can make a floor look dated, additionally stain can be applied to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. When wood flooring is cared for properly and maintained it can last a lifetime.

Refinishing

If you have real hardwood flooring in your home you have likely heard of refinishing. Refinishing hardwood flooring is when the dull and worn out finish is sanded off, bringing the wood back to its original glory. Refinishing removes ambered finish, eliminates scuffs and sands out scratches. A stain can be applied during this process and then new top coats are applied to give the floor its finished look. Top coats can be a variety of different sheens to meet your needs.

Many customers are concerned about refinishing their floors because of the dust. Hardwood sanding does create cust, there is no escaping this but with the right equipment the dust can be contained. Vacuum systems, dust bags, zip walls and other dust mitigation efforts are all part of our repertoire for dust management. Sanding is not the only process that creates dust, demo and installation also create dust.

LVP

LVP and laminate products are also products our team installs. These products are great for all sorts of spaces but are especially good for wet rooms like mud rooms, laundry rooms and bathrooms. LVP is commonly waterproof and laminate also comes in waterproof varieties. Lvp has become a very popular flooring type because it has the same look as many popular wood flooring products but at a lower price point. Laminate and LVP are great flooring types and can be ideal for homeowners looking for something that will be more durable with water, kids and pets. Lvt is another type of luxury vinyl that comes in tiles instead of planks.

Prefinished Flooring

Mile High Hardwood does more than just unfinished wood flooring. We also provide prefinished flooring installation. Prefinished flooring and engineered flooring is a great option for many homeowners. Customers love that it requires no sanding and can be installed without needing time to cure. Additionally, prefinished can provide different aesthetics than unfinished wood like hand scraped texture, staining effects and other distressing. Engineered can be more stable in wider widths so many 7 inch wide or wider planks are prefinished. Engineered and prefinished wood flooring often look similar but there are some key differences. Engineered wood flooring is a wood veneer on a multilayer backer while prefinished is solid wood that has been factory finished.
